Licensing an unlicensed or expired chronology
Why would I want to do this?
- You might have been evaluating Chronolator and have now bought a licence for the Define tool. You want to licence a chronology you created during the evaluation.
- You might want to update a document whose licence has expired (see Licence Periods for information about licence expiry).
- You might have upgraded your Define licence to a more permissive one and want to update the licence in a document you created with the old one.
How do I do it?
How to do it depends on whether you have the file you want to update.
- If you have it:
- Open it with the Open > File button on the Ribbon.
- Press Licensing > Document > Install and follow the instructions in Installing a licence in the Licensing topic.
- Message c9m2000 will be issued to remind you to save the document to your filesystem. Press OK to dismiss it.
- Press Save As > txt or Save As > JSON.
- If you do not:
- Press Licensing > Document > Create Licence.
- Press OK on the form that is displayed to copy the licence and installation instructions to your clipboard.
- Paste the clipboard into an email or document and send it to the person who has the file.
