Tools Tab

The Tools tab has four Groups:

Check

Obfuscate

System Tools

Edit

There are four buttons in the Edit group:

Format Dates puts dates and times into a consistent format. When you press it, a list of possible date formats is shown: click on the one you want. Times are put into the ISO 8601 format (a 24-hour time delimited by a colon, e.g. 18:15).

Glossary lets you add, change, and delete entries in the Abbreviations Glossary. Abbreviations can be used in conjunction with the Search feature to provide a powerful way to review selected events.

Password allows you to add, change, or remove password protection for the file.

Sequence column lets you, change, update or delete a Sequence Column.

Check

The Check Table button checks the table for errors that can occur in chronologies that have not been produced using one of the the Chronolator Browser Tools.

Obfuscate

The Clear Column button clears the contents of a column. Press it, and choose the desired column from the displayed list. This can be useful when using a chronology for training.

System Tools

There are three buttons in the System Tools group:

View Logs

Chronolator logs how you use it so that Berrick Computing Ltd can diagnose any problems you encounter.
These logs remain on your computer unless you want to send them for diagnosis.
You can view, copy, and clear them.

Reports

This button displays Application Environment and Document Details reports.
The Application Environment report is mainly of interest for problem diagnosis.
The Document Details report describes the chronology - what columns are included, which of them are mandatory, what abbreviations are in the glossary and so on.

Clear cookies

Use this button to clear Chronolator cookies. This can be useful if browser problems prevent the tool working properly.
